BLACK BEAUTY ridden by LAWRENCE KAINE
(Beauty's workout for May week 2 May Maiden Turf)

[/size]Black Beauty a 3 year old Maiden black colt was new to the racing career this year. He would have been racing at his prospect year if he had not been injured. With a full vet bill saying he was completely healed the owner of Bowen Acres Stabled wanted to get the colt into racing immediately. He is the full brother of Bowen Acres Stables Passion Heart as well. He was ridden by the stables newest jockey Lawrence Kaine who had experience of riding horses for years. Beauty was a turf colt that ran 7-11 furlongs who had the knack to be a front runner.
The black colt was pretty calm in most situations and this was his first workout before the race. The colt had a very unique blaze that others could tell which one was Beauty. Lawrence got up onto the colt's back and guided him onto the track where their were quite a few others running on the track just before him. "Ok Beauty for your first run let's say we show how well you do on the track huh?" He said knowing the colt couldn't talk back to him. Entering the gate was not hard for Beauty he was as silent as a sleeping puppy. The colt raised his head for the ready as the bell rang. Beauty broke from the gate fast immediately heading straight into the lead.
Ren held onto dear life encouraging the colt to be steady throughout the fir few furlongs. Keeping his pace steady as commanded Beauty kept a normal stride although, shifted to the next gear coming along the back stretch of the turf track. "There you go Beauty nice and easy, just like that boy." He said with some panting in his voice. The colt stood 16.2h and would mature to stand about 17h when he becomes a stallion. The colt came to the final turn as Lawrence gently tapped the whip to the colt's thigh and Beauty picked up the pace to push up back into the lead. He gave it all he had coming to the turn expanding his stride.
Beauty preferred to be on the outside of the back to catch a better view of where he was going. That's how he would surprise his competitors at the last minute of the race. Pushing forward the black colt finished still galloping his fastest until coming to a slow halt. The colt shook his head to scare off the flies and raised his head showing he was done. Lawrence thought the colt had enough for the day and he would see the result the day of the race. The jockey guided the horse back to the stables to rest until the race started. He was going to be new on the track going up against fierce competitors and they would be ready.
